how do you reconcile that with the idea of free will?
it's like if i said that i know my decisions were mine, but at the same time they weren't.

Got My Nose Pierced Yesterday
by Coffee House Girl inwell since i cant grow a beard, dont have the patience for dread-locks, and do not want anything permanent like a tatoo yet..... i enjoyed the experience, never been in a tatoo parlor, this looks understated, not painful & everyone hates my new nose "glitter" which i find kinda funny.
i don't see it being a permanent thing with me, but i always wanted one, and you never know if you don't try..... just one more step in the independent direction of making my own choices-.
btw i also registered to vote last week!.

The Amish
by James_Slash ini watched an interesting programme last night on the amish religion.
i remember watching the film "witness" many years ago with harrison ford so i already had an insight into what sort of people they were.. they seem a peaceful, family/community orientated group who stick to the teachings in the bible like glue.
when jesus spoke about 'being separate from the world' surely no-one could have followed this more than the amish.

When I was a youngster in the 1950's there were lots of anointed in our congregation and also surrounding congregations. They were just ordinary folk and no one treated them as special. The congregation was very happy, never seemed to have any issues and DFing almost unheard of.
In more recent years I know a sister who is in her 60's and of the anointed; quite an ordinary sort of person but only been in 'the truth' about 25 years so she has never really been accepted as anointed. In fact one elder actually said from the platform 'we do not have any anointed in this congregation'. This despite WT getting rid of the 1931/1935 door closing!

That should have been 1882 and 1883 of course.

According to Barbara Anderson's reseach, W H Conley put in $3500, Joseph Russell $1000 and C T Russell $500 to start the Zions WT in 1881. WHC became President, JR Vice President and CT Sec-Treasurer and co-editor of the WT with his wife Maria.
When Conley died CT never even reported it in the WT. He wanted him totally written out of its history.

I think a lot of this nonsense was poached by C T Russell from William Miller (Millerites) who was the start of all the Adventist type movements. He published all these calculations and diagrams of Daniels prophesies and C T just copied them.
